A black screen is not automatically a broken panel
When a laptop powers on but the display stays black or dim, we distinguish a failed panel from a loose or damaged display cable/connector, panel-power fault or motherboard backlight-circuit issue. A lid or sleep sensor is checked where the model uses one. This helps avoid quoting a full display assembly when the evidence points to a repairable board-side fault.
